Bob Lanoue has been playing music for most of his life, from Led Zeppelin to Nat King Cole. Since the beginning of the Bush regime, a powerful rage has been building inside him. A chance remark by another performer at a coffee house about the lack of protest songs was just the catalyst he needed to write this song and release six years of pent-up rage. It is a powerful, soulful, passionate call to action!

In a horrible nightmare a band begins to play.
The music is frightening but the crowd begins to sway. Its an evil dark circus in the middle of the night…
And the crowd sways to the left ….but then it sways back to the right….
We try to stop the evil nightmare… put the Elephant in its cage.
It’s been stomping all around in a frenzied killing rage. It wears a giant cross of gold and it drives a big Humvee.
But it worships down on Wall Street, it don’t pray with you and me.
The ringmaster’s a puppet…with brains of sawdust…that we know.
I say Satan pulls his strings…we’ve got to end their evil show.
We examine our options as we go to vote once more.…
We got a black man…and a woman… Mr. Edwards, maybe Gore.
I propose this to you neighbors, it doesn’t matter one damn bit.
But if we re-elect the elephant then we deserve this stinking sh..It is time to end this freakin’ circus fascist nightmare that we’re in.

Have you tallied up their sins?
Let’s open our eyes folks…. pull our heads out ...aww… assess …the damage done.
