"Catherine Ivy's Classical music and bio"
Music Composer........ Catherine Ivy has been inspired to play piano at a very early age. Teacher told her mother she had an ear for music. Even though she had very few piano lessons, she has excelled beyond measure. She believes her inspiration stems from deep roots of family musicians. Her Grandfather played the fiddle along with uncles, and cousins. Her fondest music memories are when they would gather around at the family reunions and play together in harmony. Those were the good old days! Wish grandpa was here now!
It's just me, Catherine Ivy! Most of my compositions are played on my Portable Grand...I love it! I just love music and hope to meet and make friends who share my passion! Here's to Us....Cheers!
Do you play live? I have played live in the Hospital/Nursing Home setting, and they loved it and really enjoy the pure sound of music! I love to bring smiles to faces and be a part of some one Else's happiness! One special moment was when I went to a children's Hospital and before I started to play, the room was empty, then next thing I know as I began to play I heard little feet running around! When I finished, mom's/dad's with their little ones were listening and smiling! That's what it's about!
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry? It makes every thing so easy to find and access on the Internet. It's about all kinds of knowledge. I look things up all the time and never get bored with it.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label? Good Question......? I'm sure I would..., but I think the Indie Label is great. I also believe some of the most talented musicians, singers, bands, and music artist are unsigned and yet to be discovered. I have found the greatest I've ever heard on myspace pages. Look them up and check them out you'll see what I mean. www.myspace.com/purejem www.myspace.com/cathypoet
