Billy Davis

" Billy Davis Country Music and Bio" Billy Davis was born in Chicago, Illinois as the youngest of 5 children. He moved to Arizona at the age of 10. His beginnings in country music started then as his parents managed and owned several Country and Western Bars. Billy didn't realize that country music was going to become his passion as his beginnings in music began at 18 years of age when his dad bought him his first guitar. In his "Rebellious Period" Billy started as a "Heavy Metal" lead guitarist. Billy's conversion to Country and Western didn't come easy, Coaxed by his mother Billy tried Country and realized that Country Music had heart and soul to it and spoke of life, love, good times and hard ones. Billy's first country job was a country lead guitar player. One night the lead singer failed to show up to a gig and Billy was pressed into service in order to save the gig and the bands paycheck so he began his singing career right then and there. At that same time Billy began writing songs and has currently written over 100 songs. Billy's favorite country singers are Waylon Jennings, Merle Haggard, George Jones and Johnny Cash. His writing influences came from the likes of Dwight Yoakam, George Strait's simpleness with story and Conway Twitty's ability to paint a picture in a song. Billy Davis played first at his current gig as the house band at the Gallopin Goose Saloon in Coolidge Arizona in 1997 and returned in 2005 as the temporary lead singer for the house band. He impressed the other band members so much that a permanent change was made and Billy became the front man and has remained at "the Goose" ever since. On the CD "On the Brink Live at that Gallopin Goose" Billy is the featured lead singer and writer of four of the songs. Billy recently completed his first full length CD featuring 10 original songs. It is in the mixing stage and will be released soon. Billy Davis lives in Coolidge with his wife Teresa and daughter Katherine and son Jerrod.

You have a nice voice and a great sound. A pure sound. Vocals seem a little timid like maybe you're not sure you're as good as you are. You are good and you've proven you can sing ballards as well as upbeat tunes. My favorite tracks..."Heaven when you smile at me" and "Four Walls".

I actually like your sound, because you sound unique, and unlike anything you hear on the radio these days, and you are yourself, not trying to copy someone else. Great Job! Enjoyed the listen.

you have a really good voice not great but good it hink if you would add a bit more reverb & bass to your vocal it would make you sound brilliant because you definatly are good enough just vocal mix is a bit dry . the instrument sound really good also nice mix on the instruments .

I love it when Billy Davis sounds like he could be singing in a honky tonk circa 1970. Old country is my favorite and I think it's Billy Davis' forte as well. In addition to nailing the sound of his forefathers like Waylon and Merle, he also proves he can cut it with the current giants of the Nashville country music scene.
Not Quite a Alan Jackson 10

No you are not guite an Alan Jackson or a George Strait but I like your voice better than Garth and Toby Keith. Your music seems to be mainstream with a hint of old country. I rate this a 5 with reservations.
