"Delton Walker's Jazz music and bio"
"Just Let Me Loose" was written for all Katrina victims and survivors of Katrina.
Born and raised in New York. By age seven he started playing drums, at nine years of age he was off and running with trumpet, piano and guitar.
Luckily Delton was always surrounded by music. His father, Delton Sr. and Oscar Walker “uncle” were gospel singers. Oscar Walker sung with people like The Dixie Humming Birds and the Florida Robins.
The best times in Delton's house was on Sunday mornings listening to his father singing thru the house while The Mighty Clouds of Joy, The Dixie Humming Birds and so many others played in the background. These songs of course were recorded on 45’s. I felt blessed to be influence by so many musicians like Otis Redding, The Ojays, Gladys Knight, Temptations, Smokey Robinson, Sam Cooke and so many others.
Delton was a Quarterback for the Air Force in Germany, still trying to hold onto music he joined a group in Germany and began falling in love with Jazz and the sweet sound of sax. After completing his tour of duty in the Air Force Delton returned to New York for a short time but Europe called him back this time to Norway playing semi-pro football, this was where he bought his first sax.
After spending one year in Norway playing semi-pro football he returned back to New York and ventured into Print work, commercials for Remy Martin, Newport, American Express, while hoping to make it in the acting field he ventured into doing film work as an extra in movies and TV like Law and Order, Above the Rim, Cowboy Way and Carlito's Way.
