"Jon Day's R&B music and bio"
Jon Day is a Soul singer-songwriter with a silky smooth style that effortlessly takes you on a different journey on each of his recordings. Jon is bringing the roots of soul music back with a force on his debut EP - "What About Me". He combines his lyrical quality and stage performance, with melodic tones that take you somewhere between Prince and John Legend.
Jon's been singing since he could talk and songwriting since age 12. His poignant, sometimes playful lyrics always tell a story. He completed his first solo project in Summer 2000, and immediately received accolades. His song, "What About Me" was awarded Honorable Mention in the 2000 John Lennon Songwriting Contest, as well as a Top Ten finish in the Tonos.com Blues Express Challenge in September 2001. His song "Craziness" was awarded Honorable Mention in the 2006 Great American Songwriting contest.
Jon recently completed his catalog of 14 original songs and is back in the studio again this Fall (2007) to complete his EP of 6 songs and blaze a trail for others to follow in 2008! Jon is currently performing live in the Seattle area with the funk band, Olympic Soul Collective.
