"Melody Selvon's Reggae music and bio"
Mary Melody Selina Selvon, better known as Melody Selvon, hails from Canada.
She was born in Mauritius Island on September 17, 1989, and then went to Australia with her family when her father, a well-known writer and newspaper editor, was appointed as Ambassador in Canberra. Melody did a good part of her primary schooling in Australia, where the family stayed nearly five years. The family of five then migrated to Canada where Melody graduated from the Glenmary School in the Province of Alberta.
While preparing to attend university, she went back to Mauritius to take part in the national beauty pageant as the youngest of all contestants just before her 17th birthday. In 2007, she was a participant in the Miss World 2007 contest in Sanya, in the province of Hainan, China, where her parents, Marie Danielle, and Sydney, are residents as Foreign Experts.
In 2008, Melody was living in China with her parents, though the family has kept their ties with Canada where they own property. However, their ties with China also are numerous. Melody’s eldest brother Daniel is studying medicine at Zheijang University, one of the most prestigious Chinese universities. Melody was, in 2008, planning to go there also for further studies and the third and last child of the family, Sheridan, also intended to do tertiary studies in China after finishing online high school classes with Canada while residing in China.
Melody has widely travelled since early childhood, having been also to France, the UK, the Bahamas and Singapore in addition to living in Australia, Canada, Mauritius and China. She is highly trained as a beauty pageant contestant who also took part in 2007 in Miss Intercontinental, prior to Miss World 2007 in Sanya.
Melody has written her first song “We Are One” in 2007. She has more in store.
In her leisure time, she enjoys swimming, writing and reading.
