"Aggromatic's Rock music and bio"
AGGROMATIC, a band founded in McLean VA, is a melodic mix of punk, and hard rock with a diminutive, yet aggressive, touch of metal. Together these elements adeptly spawn creative and catchy hooks, melodic supercharged rhythms, and brutal breakdowns with the crunch and low end that even hardcore/metal fans can appreciate. Since their conception, Aggromatic has played many shows, been to conferences, been to the studio twice, setup mailing lists, made several contacts and put out their first demo. But this bands aggressive take on the music scene was not always so.
Formed by Aggromatic lead vocalist and guitarist, Nick Tierra, Aggromatic, consists of three members: Tierra himself, bassist Mark Westfield, and drummer Paul Heath. All three band members have an extensive musical background. Tierra and Westfield played together in Strawman, a band in the Washington, DC area that lasted four years. Strawman toured nationally, opening 70 shows for the Kottonmouth Kings in front of audiences that averaged 1,000 people a night. Additionally, they opened for national acts including Anthrax, Collective Soul, FUEL, Sev, The Exies as well as many others. During their time together the band sold over 10,000 copies of their albums. Heath, on the other hand, played drums mainly as a session drummer locally in the DC area and many of the recordings that Heath played on went on to sell hundreds of copies. Together the trio collectively forms what is now Aggromatic.
In the summer of ’07 the trio hit the studio to record their first demo; to be released to record labels, and producers around the country. The recording process was both long and painstaking but proved to be what they had long sought after and was on a completely different level in terms of quality in comparison to any other album the band members had previously released with other projects. With their new demo at hand, the band is currently playing shows around the Washington, DC and Baltimore areas and plans to expand into other markets in the near future. Ultimately, they aim to sign with a label that will offer them tour and recording support to help them continue bringing their blend of hard rock, metal and punk to a larger fan base.
From Jaxx in Washington DC all the way to music conferences in Pennsylvania, the band has come a long way from their original conception; constantly evolving and perfecting their unique style and sound has and always will be the goal for Aggromatic, pushing the envelope in attempts to create a unique sound that will bring change to the music industry.
