Bankside started in 2005, with the idea of putting really heavy riffs to ringing melodic vocals. Eli (on bass) and Lori (vocalist/guitarist) wanted to create something totally unique by combining two totally different musical styles. Eli played fast paced hard hitting heavy music with screaming vocals and Lori was playing the acoustic guitar and writing peace songs. So when they got together and decided to create this new sound it was magical to say the least. Michael (on drums) found himself in the middle of the driving force and filled the gap with his solid beats. Bankside not only features the raw passion and sweet grace of Lori’s vocals, but the music itself has its own voice and story. With lyrics that portray the cosmic yen + yang of the universe, a combination of innocence and darkness in perfect balance. The focus of their musical genius is how one creates their own Karma; one cannot change the past nor predict the future. Live, breath, think about all that you want the day to bring and it will happen if you believe. Bankside is here to portray the full spectrum of music and creativity. Not to sound like anyone else, but to create the next big thing, this to them is to be yourself. Vocals and guitar are played by Lori Daconto. Since the age of 6 she was trained on classical piano and was performing vocally since the age of 8. While in college for Recording Industry Management with a Music Industry and Piano Minor she started playing the guitar. Lori played in several local bands. Her very first local Nashville band was Matinee Idol and she then toured the southern states with the band U4ea. Eli Daconto has played Bass since age 10. He started playing in several local Nashville bands at the age of 16. Then he moved to Baltimore and toured nationally with bands such as; Mind Stab, Savior Own, Yellow # 5(Clarissa) and Sarah Pinsker. On drum’s, Michael Daconto has been playing since the age of 12 and has played with several local Nashville bands. Michael’s drum techniques surround the music and completes Bankside’s driving sound. Bankside’s influences include: Korn, Tool, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Mudvayne, Metalica, Ann Wilson, Garbage, Lita Ford, Perfect Circle, System of a Down, and Disturbed. Bankside has a creative idea of what the future holds for nu-metal and they will be a part of it.
