Bleu Lane Band

"Bleu Lane Band's Bio and Rock Music"

Bleu Lane came together the first time in late 1999 in Austin. They recorded their demo album in Atlanta in September of 2000 with studio musicians including Steve Walsh of Kansas. Once signed by Atlanta based Southern Tracks Records Lane assembled the group to record their first album in Nashville bringing the late Ian Wallace of King Crimson, Don Henley Band, Bob Segar, Carly Simon, and the late Ronnie Lane's band; along with Artimus Pyle and Lynyrd Skynyrd sideman Mike Estes; Debbie Davis (Estes) also a member of Lynyrd Skynyrd; Memphis Blues Vocalist Jimmie Davis; Keyboardist Jim "Moose" Brown; with the Atlanta guitarist, Matt Stauffer; Austin Bass Guitarist, Lee Coate; and Stephen Fredrick from Conyers, Georgia, a Lead and Backing Vocalist to fill in the Nashville session group. With Tommy Spurlock and Voitek Cohahanen at the controls on the mixing console the group recorded the 12 songs in one take completing the entire album in less than 36 hours total. Keeping a fast pace and short hours daily from Monday night to Saturday morning beginning the second week of September 2002 Lane produced 12 songs for the label upon his return to Atlanta with the completed album. The label had the CD mastered at Master House by legendary engineer and mastering ace, Rodney Mills. After all the artwork and other issues were satisfied the CD was released in May of 2003. Still receiving acclaim the CD has continued to find new listeners around the globe as evidence by the band's web pages
at My Space, Unsigned, Noisehead, Show Case Your Music, and CD BABY. Looking to record and release their sophomore CD this Fall the band has had to wait for front man and band leader Bleu to get through some medical issues that have come up in the last 4 months. Bleu is also forming the new group from both his Nashville and
Atlanta side personnel with new members to replace the late Ian Wallace and Matt Stauffer who will not be returning to perform with the group. Jimmie Davis, who did most of the vocals on the first album will appear on the CD but will not tour with the band. Not to worry as Bleu has found some exceptional players to be in the touring band and will be able to recreate all the songs on the first album faithfully and bring in more strength to the new material being added to the hour and a half set which will bring the show time to 2 and 1/2 hours not including encores.
