| | Caribbean Sensation Shaka Dee is about to take the US by storm! There is a familiar saying that: "some people are born to greatness, and some have greatness thrust upon them." To name a few of the great entertainers, we have to cite Michael Jackson and Bob Marley. Like so many that came before him, Shaka Dee is about to make history by having his name added to the list of the most talented artists ever, past and present.
Reggae master Shaka Dee hails from the beautiful and eclectic Caribbean country of Trinidad & Tobago. A talented soccer player with a promising future, Shaka could not set aside his pure attraction to music. Making his way through the tough streets of NYC, he began blowing minds performing at Block Parties and Open Mic Nights. By the age of 18, Shaka realized the extent of his gift as a Reggae Artist and took it to the next level when he met with top notch executives at Pressplay Entertainment Group.
In 2002, his music career ignited when he opened up for Petey Pablo in North Carolina. Then in 2005, Shaka Dee, Kat Deluna and Jay Millz collaborated on the hit single "Dale Duro" which was 1 throughout Europe and Japan. With the success of the single, Shaka became the opening act in shows all over the world in countries like United Kingdom, Germany, Netherlands and Italy. He began a series of collaborations, most recently with Kat De Luna, dropping a 2-song album: "Run the Show" and "To Be Remembered" which hit stores on August 8th, 2007. These two songs have been the most downloaded ringtones from Hightones and Billboard.com foresees the single "Run the Show" to be one of the biggest hits for 2007. Let’s not forget the remix of the song "Whine Up" with Kat De Luna which has been playing on the radio for the New York Mets. They are a testament to Shaka’s incredible talent; however the best is yet to come.
Bringing a dynamic sound to fans of reggae, and hip-hop, producers such as Red One, Wylcef Jean, Snow Cone and Pressplay Entertainment Group have been working on an all new upcoming album featuring artists such as Kat Deluna. Shaka has already completed a new song with Spragga Benz titled "You Turn Me On". At the moment, Shaka is busy in the studio putting together his debut album, and is working on a track remix for Luciano’s hit Album "Now and Forever.
