"The 3rd Street Butcher's music and bio"
Hi, I am Stephen A. Haynes, MA., aka "The 3rd Street Butcher." I have been playing music since the age of 12. I studied Classical Guitar and Theory in High School and continued music through college. I was fortunate to play with the family band "THE PRIDE." The band changed the landscape of music during the late 90's with their rock/funk style. Often compared to "Living Colour," they set out to change the way music was listened to, with 3 hard hitting Cd's. The members went their separate ways, and "The Butcher" turned to "hip hop," to express his love for music. He found a freedom he never experienced with "The Pride". After releasing "The Pimp Bible" in 2004, he found great success as a solo artist. The CD was successful but VERY mis-understood. This didn't stop the creative process and a metamorphosis was happening to the "Butcher." He pressed forward and released yet another CD, "The Sorcerer's Last Spell," September 15,2007. This is some of his best work. With help from his younger brother "SPACE BOY," this is some of his most creative music! "Music is not an image to me but a batch of experiences and sounds connected in this journey we call life," said "The Butcher" to an interviewer. "I have something to say and share. It's a question of; are you open enough to receive the message, or are you stuck on stupid?" Open your ears and receive "The 3rd Street Butcher!" No boundaries, and this is the rule! |
